Our Story
"It started with Garp."
One dog changed everything.
My chocolate Lab spent his early years battling chronic allergies and infections that no treatment could fix. We tried everything, and nothing held. Out of options but unwilling to give up, I finally looked at the one thing we'd never changed: his food.
The more I researched, the clearer it became. Dogs are built to thrive on grain-free meals made from fresh meat and real produce. So I started making Garp's food myself — raw and from scratch. The change was remarkable. His skin cleared, his energy came back, and the dog I'd been so worried about was finally himself again.
Word got around. Friends tried the same approach with their own pets and saw the same transformation. That's when I knew this was bigger than one dog — and Meadys was born.
Garp started it.
DJ carried it on.
DJ was by my side for 14 years, raised on the same raw, locally sourced food from the very beginning. He lived a full, vibrant life — with the coat, the energy, and the spirit of a much younger dog, right up until age finally caught up with him.
We lost DJ, but his long, healthy years are a testament to what good food can do. He and Garp are the reason we keep going.
We continue Meadys so that other dogs can live the same caliber of life that Garp and DJ did.
