In France people take their dogs everywhere, to the beach and along with them in the busiest shopping districts and no one bats an eyelash. Everywhere you turn, you will see people with their dogs, even while food shopping at the local market. While we may have more pet services in Canada like doggy daycare, dog walkers and dog parks, dogs are still confined to their own spaces. And I don't buy the argument that dogs are messy or unclean - I did't see 1 piece of poop lying around anywhere in France. Wish I could say the same for here in Canada.
